In the face of rapidly aging global populations and declining birth rates, designing products and markets from the perspective of the elderly has become a critical challenge. It is essential to address aging-related issues arising from the physiological and psychological changes experienced by seniors. By focusing on health, dietary nutrition, and wellness, we aim to create food products that are both delicious and approachable. To tackle sarcopenia and the structural physiological and psychological impacts of aging, food interface design must be approached from a broader perspective—taking into account texture, swallowability, flavor, chewability, and nutritional value. Additionally, integrating elements of fun, culture, and empathetic companionship into both hardware and software design will empower us to enter an aging society with greater confidence and dignity.

By developing food products that balance nutrition and health benefits, we strive to stimulate appetite and encourage seniors to “eat well, eat enough, and eat happily.” Our ultimate design goal is to ensure that nutrients are effectively absorbed and digested, which is the core vision of our design team at Yongyi. We are dedicated to safeguarding the dietary abilities of seniors, ensuring that every elderly person finds deeper meaning in the act of eating. With a commitment to traditional virtues and the spirit of nourishing through food, Yongyi aspires to enable our elders to enjoy a healthy and delicious dining experience with joy and without pressure.
